When it comes to sun protection, we often only think of the face. Facial skin is often already much better "acclimatized," or accustomed to the sun, due to daily exposure to outdoor activities.
This often daily light sun exposure naturally leads to a slight hardening of the face against the sun (UV light hardening), a characteristic that the skin of the body lacks entirely. This makes the skin of the body particularly in need of protection. Consistent sun protection is at least as important on the body as it is on the face. Ultimately, due to the lack of natural, intrinsic protection, it may even be more important.
