The eye area is the first to show what the body is going through. The skin here is significantly thinner and more sensitive than anywhere else on the face – and under greater daily strain. This is why the area deserves a more targeted form of care.
The skin around the eyes is only around 0.5 millimetres thick, compared to the usual one to two. It contains far fewer natural lipids and loses moisture quickly, while struggling to retain it. There is also a constant mechanical stress that is rarely considered: we blink approximately 15,000 times a day. No other area of the face is subject to such continuous movement. It is here that fatigue, dryness and the effects of too little sleep tend to appear first.
Standard facial care products are not designed for these demands. Creams and serums are not built to sit closely against a small, constantly moving area of skin for any length of time – they spread too quickly, and their contact time is too short. The eye area requires a treatment designed to stay close to the skin and deliver actives evenly and continuously. The transparent hydrogel structure of the (19) Eye Pads does exactly that. It moulds to the skin, creates a moist environment and allows the actives to work directly and over a sustained period. The refreshing sensation, however, is immediate.
The pads contain panthenol, which soothes the skin and supports barrier function. Ectoin – a molecule derived from microorganisms that survive under extreme environmental conditions – strengthens the skin's own protective mechanisms against external stressors. Niacinamide helps improve overall skin appearance and supports skin elasticity. Centella Asiatica provides moisture and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Red Sage Root Extract rounds out the formulation with antioxidant properties.
After cleansing the face, place the pads with the narrower side towards the nose, aligning the wider side towards the cheekbones. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. The pads can be used on both sides; both sides are equally effective. Storing them in the refrigerator intensifies the refreshing effect. The transparent gel structure also makes them discreet enough for everyday wear. The (19) Hydrogel Eye Pads can be used daily – or whenever the eye area needs extra attention.
